What is the science of volcanoes?

Project Overview

‚Äč

In this project, children have learnt all about how volcanoes form and what happens when they erupt. Through an in-depth focus on science, children learnt all about the Earth's structure, the properties of solids, liquids and gases, changes of state and how gases behave under pressure. They have also learnt about volcanoes around the Ring of Fire and one case study in particular: the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and its effect on Pompeii. Through a strong focus on oracy, children have practised delivering engaging and clear presentations and explanations.
