At School 21 we want work to be beautiful, meaningful and have impact on the world.
Students used Scratch Jr to make algorithms to simulate a tube moving along the Central Line and we visited different stops along the Central Line and wrote persuasive texts about each stop.
Children became experts in their chosen country; Ghana, Japan or Mexico. They researched different elements of the country including climate, religion, celebrations and food.
Students were immersed in the context surrounding The Beatles and their movement, including the emergence of Beatlemania. They learnt and studied a number of Beatles songs, exploring the musical and stylistic links with the music of their contemporaries.
Each group was given a specific event during the Cold War to research, develop an immersive production and create a Cold War spy style puzzle. The groups looked at the 'Three Conferences', 'The Czechoslovakian Crisis' 'The Berlin Crisis' and the 'Cuban Missile Crisis'.
Year 7 students have been learning how to structure an effective pop song and write well-crafted lyrics with form, rhythm and flow.
Students used an immigration story from the news and created a piece of artwork in the form of Kandinsky geometric art. They had to research numbers which could be represented in their picture from the immigration story and apply it to their picture.
