Science in the Media

What can I ask my MP to do to take action on an issue that is important to me?

Project overview:

Politics impacts every aspect of our lives. There are lots of ways you can hold politicians to account and make sure that they know what issues matter to you. The students learnt how to be EPIC and engage their MP, other MPs and local councillors to affect change on a range of issues - from homelessness to investment in youth centres to tackle knife crime and investment in policing.

What The Teachers say!

Above and Beyond?

We were joined by local councillor Terence Paul for one of the sessions. Each of the students prepared and asked Mr Paul a question and were persistent in their rebuttal when they disagreed with his responses. They did this in a professional and respectful manner, so that they were able to create rapport and foster a relationship that they can continue to leverage to lobby for change.
