What could a museum of the future be like?
Year 4 spent the first half of Summer Term learning about a different ancient culture, either the Mayans, Egyptians or the Shang Dynasty. A list of 12 specific artefact from each was chosen, and the children worked in pairs and trios to analyse these. They developed their knowledge of their ancient culture through investigating what the object was, how it was made or used and what it could teach us about this time in history. Children then wrote expert essays on their piece, and used their sculpting skills to build a replica of the object. Finally, these were photographed and added, along with the expert analysis, to a Virtual Reality environment to show just what a museum of the future could look like!
