School 21’s mission is to empower young people to change the world and delivering a rigorous, relevant and powerful Humanities education is central to that mission. We are looking for an excellent Humanities teacher who is passionate about their subject and can enthuse our students across key stages. The ability to teach History, Geography or Politics at Key Stage 5 would be an advantage.
School 21 is an all-through school and you will have the opportunity to help shape the vision for Humanities from years 7-13. Whether you are teaching at A Level, GCSE or Key Stage 3, School 21 is a place where there is a rich and exciting mix of ideas about the best pedagogies and curriculum.
We believe the teaching of Humanities should make regular and sustained connections to the real world, with students learning to take part in field work, and link their learning to topical events. You will be required to design projects that encourage deep understanding and require students to grapple with authentic problems to create high quality products for real audiences.
School 21 is a very special and different kind of place to work in. All of us are striving to become pioneers (rethinking key aspects of education practice), multipliers (growing others and building teams), craftspeople (who think deeply about their practice) and people with integrity and humanity (driven by a strong sense of values and purpose). This is what we are looking for in new members of staff. We empower staff to find their voice and their creativity. We offer collaboration and learning across ages and subjects. We believe strongly in developing the full potential of all staff.
