School 21 is one of the most exciting schools in the country, pioneering a range of powerful

approaches to the curriculum and teaching.  This is a great time to join a science department that teaches science from 4 to 18. Whether your interest is teaching A level biology, inspiring pupils in our new middle school or developing deep thinking in our secondary school across all science disciplines, School 21 is a place where there is a rich and exciting mix of ideas about the best pedagogies and curriculum. Ideally, you will be an experienced A-level biology teacher and it is essential that you have a passion for developing the best pedagogy for GCSE and Alevel.

Science comes alive at School 21 as students grapple with the big ideas that underpin the world around us. Teachers plan challenging and exciting projects, develop thinking skills to a high level and foster scientific enquiry.

School 21 is a very special and different kind of place to work. We empower staff to find their voice and their creativity. We offer collaboration and learning across ages and subjects as well as a tailored programme of professional development which results in strong outcomes for the students. We offer multiple routes of progression through subjects and pedagogies. We believe strongly in developing the full potential of all staff.

Within the sixth form, we will seek to pair students with experts and experienced professionals in various scientific fields to undertake research, on-site projects, or work placements. Our aim here will be to stretch our students beyond the A-level course and to give them opportunities to experience science at the cutting edge of discovery. You will work alongside the other science teachers in an inspirational department to develop the curriculum and schemes of work. You will analyse student data to identify underachievement and develop intervention strategies to ensure all students make outstanding progress.
