Congratulations to all at School 21 for achieving "outstanding" in our first ever Ofsted inspection.
This is the top grade and an incredible achievement for the staff and pupils in such a short period of time.
The rigorous 2 day inspection was carried about by 3 inspectors, led by an experienced HMI, who observed lessons, interviewed children, parents, teachers and governors, looked at student work and examined all of our policies and data.
They judged the school to be outstanding in all four categories which is very unusual.
Achievement of pupils: outstanding
Teaching and learning: outstanding
Behaviour and safety: outstanding
Leadership and management: outstanding
The inspectors commented:
"Outstanding leadership has produced a highly effective school within a short time."
"Pupils across the school make exceptional progress."
"Pupils have excellent attitudes to learning, impeccable manners and show respect for everyone."
"Behaviour is outstanding."
Through project-based learning "pupils achieve remarkable standards of work and demonstrated knowledge and skills at levels beyond those expected for their age group."
"A well-researched, innovative and creative way of organising subjects promotes outstanding learning."
"Pupils talk and discuss with a maturity and confidence that is remarkable for their years."
"Excellent teaching across the school and in every subject allows all groups of pupils to achieve equally well."
