How can we create a virtual reality gaming character for an online audience?

Project Overview

This term Year 8 have taken on the role of a games designer and model maker. By examining various characters the students crafted their own game character from wire and clay. The final clay creatures have been scanned with a 3D virtual reality scanner app to create computer-generated gaming creatures.

What the students say

"I thought that this project was great because it was fun to be part of. It was fascinating how first you need to make the inside bones of the creature using wire and also the strength it has when you get it right."

What the teacher says

It was fantastic to see how the student designs developed as the project progressed. The digital element of the project created an exciting way to teach traditional sculptural skills in a new way.
